To schedule a consultation with Catherine Michael, please contact Ms. Michael or our office.   In all special education cases, we ask that you complete our questionnaire form and supply your records prior to your telephone or face-to-face consultation.  This questionnaire is available by contacting our office.  In other types of education cases, you may schedule a consultation without supplying records ahead of time.   There are times when parents will not be able to complete this document prior to the consultation.  If you retain our office, we will expect that this document and all the other requested documents will be provided to our office within two weeks time.   Please be aware that we will not take any action on your case until you have retained our office and provided all of your documents.   Providing information and consulting with Catherine Michael does not mean that you have retained her or the firm of Hollingsworth & Zivitz, PC or that she has agreed to represent you. Actual representation is pursuant to a separate written fee agreement.

The purpose of the consultation is to review your child’s educational history, discuss with you options and if possible to help you avoid the necessity of retaining an attorney and yet still obtain good services for your child.  With guidance, parents can become an effective advocate for their child in a non-adversarial manner, without an attorney.   To that end, we will also discuss with you the use of parent advocates and can help you find a parent advocate who can work with our office to assist you in advocacy for your child.
